When to Start Automating Processes

Automation is the holy grail of generating cashflow. In order to start automating processes, you need to have enough capital.

But, every situation is a little different. Although you might not be able to completely automate everything, you can start to automate parts of the business.

There’s so much that goes into running a successful agency, and you want to do it in a way where you don’t get burned out. This is why we focus so much on cashflow.

If cashflow is not your goal, you will exhaust yourself. If your not focused on automation from the beginning, you won’t be able to scale. More importantly, you’re quality of life will be terrible. You’ll end up working 20 hour days.

Let’s take a look at some common tasks that can be automated:

  1. Finding potential clients
  2. Setting up demo sites
  3. Emailing potential clients
  4. Setting up a client’s live site

Each of these processes can be automated. Instead of spending hours trying to find new clients you want to contact, you should outsource it.

Once you have a list of clients, you’ll want to setup a demo site for each one before you send them an email. This can be very time consuming and brain numbing work for those of you that aren’t into it. This is also something you can outsource.

Let’s say you have a list of 50 clients to contact with their demo sites all ready to go. Writing an email to each client, could take half a day. Even if you have a generic email you send to all of them, it could still take time out of your day you’d rather spend doing something else.

Let’s say 20 out of those 50 clients love the demos and want to use it for their real site. Imagine migrating 20 sites over to their new accounts. It’s not difficult to do, but again it’s time consuming.

You want to focus on doing the things you like to do and outsource the things you don’t. Otherwise, you’ll be miserable doing stuff you don’t want to do for most of the day. Instead of getting joy out of what your doing, everything will become a drain on your energy.

So, when should you start automating processes?

You should start automating right away, as soon as you can afford it. You want to get in the habit of thinking in terms of scalability. Because the truth is, you are not scalable. As much as we’d like to think we can handle anything, there’s just not enough time in a day to do it all.

When you think in terms of scale and let your money work for you, you’ll find that you’re landing more clients and making more money quicker than you ever thought possible.
